Emanuel Lutheran A Bible-Based Church

The President shall preside at the meetings of the Church Council and of this Congregation.

Responsibilities : To Support the President and Council in moving forward the Mission & Vision of Emanuel Lutheran Church and the Ministries.

The Secretary shall keep the minutes of the Church Council and of this Congregation and have them properly filed along with any resolutions.

The treasurer shall have custody of all funds of this Congregation
and shall receive and disburse such funds in accordance with the
decisions of this Congregation or the Church Council and present a
written financial report at all regularly scheduled Church Council
meetings.

Youth and Family Ministry:
Work with Pastor in the overall Ministry to and with Youth and Families of the
Congregation. In conjunction with the Pastor will form ministry teams and task
forces to carry out these responsibilities.
Currently Ministry:
Work with Education Ministries where needed on Sunday School, Confirmation,
Youth Programs, and High School Programs.
Facilitate the start of small group ministries for young adults
Work on developing contemporary worship opportunities.
Work on strategies to attract church going and non-church going young families,
Events Coordinator:
Coordinate use of church by Hospice of San Joaquin’s “Camp Caterpillar”.
Coordinate Youth and Family fund raiser dinner in February.
Coordinate Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday.
Coordinate Mission Trips for youth.
Assist with Kick Off Sunday
Coordinate Fall Fest

The Council Member responsible for this area shall oversee education from childcare (nursery) through adults at this Congregation.

The Council Member responsible for this area shall attend to the proper maintenance and repair of church property and the general protection of this Congregation against loss or damage of whatever nature. The Council Member responsible for this area may form Ministry Teams and Task Forces as needed to carry out these responsibilities.

The Council Member responsible for this area shall oversee congregational events, relationship and visitation ministry

As council liaison for worship, I work with the pastor, secretary and others to support them and our worship services. I meet with our accompanist to select worship music that supports the Bible readings and the message.  I review power point slides weekly for accuracy. Other responsibilities include updating the saints in service handbook, recruiting volunteers for saints in service (I.e.  ushers, acolytes, readers, etc.)

The mission for worship is to ensure we have Bible based services with music that supports the message and motivates the congregation to go out and share the message.  The vision is to grow so we have multiple worship services including a contemporary service. Please pray that our worship builds us up spiritually, motivates us to share the word with others, which helps us to grow. 

As the Council Member in charge of outreach and mission, my goal is make that a priority and not just an afterthought.

It is my responsibility to help connect Emanuel Lutheran to our community and the world.

I am responsible for proposing which ministries Emanuael supports on a monthly basis at the local, regional and international levels.  Those proposals are then voted on by the Council as a whole.

In addition, I set up our Mission Awareness Sunday which will become a semi-annual or perhaps quarterly event. 

I'm in charge of advertising for the church

I am responsible for helping determine our policies for bringing in and working with outside ministries and groups using Emanuel's facilities. 

The Council Member responsible for this area shall attend to the general oversight and support of paid staff, including the pastor(s). The Council Member responsible for this area may form Ministry Teams and Task Forces as needed to carry out these responsibilities.
