I am Scott Sorensen; I have been at Emanuel for almost two years. I received my bachelor’s
degree in Christian Studies in 2020 and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Grand Canyon
University. I am continuing my studies at Grand Canyon University and will complete my
Master of Divinity degree in early 2024.
I have been Lutheran for at least 45 years and was very active in my youth as an acolyte. In
2015/2016, I became a member of St. John’s Lutheran in Antioch, where I was on the council,
part of the A/V team, and a Lay Assistant.
I am a native Nebraskan but have been in California since 1994. I have three adult children who
live in Modesto and Concord. I have four grandsons and live with my dog and rabbit.
